Mt. Peak Lenina was explored in 1871 by a
Russian geographer Alexei Fedchenko. He named the mountain
for Russia's Governor of the day, Kaufman. In 1928 the mountain
was given the name, Peak Lenina.
The northern slopes, when covered with a sufficient amount
of snow, are good for skiing.
Ski descent from the summit falls under the category of
skiextreme and is not included in this catalogue. However,
it may also be organized on request. In the latter case, please
contact us week in advance.
