Peak Lenin 7134m

The region comprises a group of ranges with more then 50 mountains over 6000 metres. The biggest is the Academi Nauk Range, which is approached from the north-west by Peter the Great Range. At the meeting place of the two is the Pamir's highest mountain, Peak Ismoili Somoni (Communizma) 7495ms. Further to the north, in the Academi Nauk Range, is the mountain Peak Evgenia Korjenevskaya (7105ms). These two giants overlook a large moraine, Moskvina Glade (4200ms), with a finy lake and a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The place is encircled by three glaciers, Walter, traube and Moskvina, and used as the startng point to both summits, Ice-climbing enthusiasts will find there good seracs for practice. Mt. Peak Lenina was explored in 1871 by a Russian geographer Alexei Fedchenko. He named the mountain for Russia 's Governor of the day, Kaufman. In 1928 the mountain was given the name, Peak Lenina.

The northern slopes, when covered with a sufficient amount of snow, are good for skiing. Ski descent from the summit falls under the category of skiextreme and is not included in this catalogue. However, it may also be organised on request. In the latter case, please contact us week in advance.

Day 1	Arrival to Dushanbe. Accomodation in hotel.
Day 2	Breakfast. transfer to alpin base "Varzob" (53 km. 1. 5 hours). Base camp 1.
Day 3-7	Breakfast. Shot climbing at the area. Back to camp. H-1500 m. Base camp 2, 3, 4, 5;
Day 8	Dushanbe - Base camp (5100ms). transfer by helicopter (2h20min)+2h. 20min. = 4h. 40min. H-5100 m. Base camp 6.
Day 9-11	Acclimatisation. H-5100 m. Base camp 7, 8, 9;
Day 12	Rest day on the base camp. H-5100 m. Base camp 10.
Day 13	Preparation for ascent. H-5100 m. Base camp 11.
Day 14	Base camp - Mt. Peak Lenina - Camp (5100ms). Northern ice- snow slope (4-5hs). H-5100 m. Base camp 12.
Day 15	Camp (5100ms) - Camp (5800ms). Western Ridge (4-5hs) H-5800 m. camp 13.
Day 16	Camp (5800ms) - Camp (6100ms) (4-5hs). H-6100 m. camp 14.
Day 17	Camp (6100ms) - Camp (6700ms) (5-6hs). H-6700 m. camp 15.
Day 18	Camp (6700ms) - Summit - Camp (6700ms) (7-9hs). H-6700 m. camp 16.
Day 19	Camp (6700ms) - Camp (5800ms) (6-7hs). H-5800 m. camp 17.
Day 20	Camp (5800ms) - Base Camp (6-7hs). H-5100 m. Base camp 18.
Day 21	Reserved day. Rest. H-5100 m. Base camp 19.
Day 22	Base camp - Dushanbe. transfer by helicopter (2h20min)+2. 20 = 4h. 40min. Accomodation in hotel.
Day 23	Breakfast. Full day an excursion on city, visit to Orient bazaar.
Day 24	Departure to home.
